WooHoo! This week went really quick. Have you ever noticed that the weeks with holiday Monday’s usually end up feeling like LOOOOONG weeks?!? But for some reason, this week flew by for me. No complaints here!
1. We have a garden! When the rain finally stopped on Monday ( the usual May Long weather ) , Chris and I put in my very first mini garden. We planted pees, tomatoes, strawberries and peppers. My parents have a chive plant that they are gifting us so I will be adding that in. I also picked up a mini planter for herbs. I’m not the best a gardening, so keep your fingers crossed for my little plants.
2. Last Saturday night, we went out for dinner with a bunch of friends. We went Rouge for dinner. Have you been yet? Apparently they change their menu every 3 months. It was Italian when we went. I completely forgot to take a photo all of us, probably because we were all too busy enjoying our delicious food. Chris even got the dill pickle soup he had been praying they still had ( as a side note, is this soup a thing?? I’d never heard of it until Chris’ sister made it). After dinner, we headed for a few rounds of bowling. Of course the guys had to make it a competition. We had a great time egging each other on. I still lost to Chris but I gave it a good solid effort:
3. We went to Calgary a couple of weekends ago and went to the Italian Centre Shop. Holy, that place is a zoo! The line up for the meat counter was massive. Chris and his Dad got a ticket and stood in line for at least 15 minutes while Dawn and I moseyed through the aisles. They have an olive counter that goes on for days:
4.I found a new blog to follow. PBFingers is written by Julie, a mom and personal trainer. I love reading about all her little stories and how she takes the time to blog about little moments.
I really like reading blogs, especially ones that friends of mine write. You can see the list of blogs at the bottom of this page under ” Blogs I Follow”. Let me know if you have any suggestions of good blogs to check out.
5. Last night I watched ” The Women’s List” on Netflix. The short film is a set of interviews with everyone from Alicia Keys to Betsey Johnson. The interviews talk about what it’s like to be a woman, some of the struggles they faced and motivating thoughts. My favorite quote was from athlete, Aimee Mullins who said “I allow myself to have doubts, but I don’t allow myself to stay there”
