Leah is now 4 months old! She has been developing so much and we love watching her learn about the world around her. She is intentionally grabbing toys and has a blast on her activity mat. Her favourite toys are her football, which she is determined to fit in her mouth and a helium balloon that she loves to bat around.
Leah is beginning to roll ! She can roll tummy to back and she is so determined to roll back to front. We have also been propping Leah up on a box and scoouching her around so she can get the feel of movement for crawling. It seems to be working because in the last couple days, she has been getting her feet under her bum and like she wants to move.
Leah has become quite the chatter box ( wonder who she gets that from?!?.. ha ha) and she loves to squeal and babble away. She is so smiley and thinks everything is funny but won’t give up a belly giggle ( we are sure she is close). I get a lot of comments about how happy of a baby she is and I would agree! She rarely cries unless it’s her cranky hours( 5pm-bed time), she is overtired or if she doesn’t get her bottle fast enough.
Leah is fascinated with food and stares at me whenever I eat something. I am sure she is going to be a foodie like her mommy and I am so excited to start her on solids in a couple months!.Leah is also amazed at everything around her, we call her our FOMO (fear of missing out) baby. She is highly distracted by lights, loves to stare at artwork and would rather look around than fall asleep in her swing or stroller.
Chris and I still do Leah’s bedtime routine together and Leah loves her bath time with her Daddy. Leah’s sleep is getting better and better every day. She will nap 3-4 times a day for anywhere from 45mins to 3 hours! Her bed time is 7pm and she either wakes up once for a bottle or just sleeps right through the night! She continues to sleep in her own room and I swear she likes the independence. She knows her nap and bedtime routine like a champ and continues to be able to put herself to sleep ( I am praying this helps ease the 4 month sleep regression).
Chris and I often find ourselves looking at photos of Leah on our phones after she has gone to bed. It is amazing to see how much she has grown. Every day we are lucky to be able to witness her gummy smiles and adorable personality. Happy 4 months little one!
- Pulling out large chunks of Mommy’s hair
- Tummy time
- Looking at herself in the mirror
- Taking selfies on Mommy’s phone
- Her giraffe, Raf
- Sticking her whole fist in her mouth
- The song Head and Shoulders along with the actions, country version
- Other babies
- Diaper changes when she’s trying to roll over
- Being rocked <<– she never liked this, she would rather be bounced
- Falling asleep in anyones arms <<– this breaks my mommy heart a bit. Leah would much rather her own space and squirms when she doesn’t want to be held anymore.
