How far along:
33 weeks. Baby is almost at birth height and weighs anywhere from 4-6lbs ( according to my pregnancy app).
How I am feeling:
Overall, I am feeling pretty good. I have been having some pain in my right hip joint which makes thigh to go numb. I have seen a chiropractor and massage therapist to relieve the pain. My rips are also hurting due to the little one taking an interest in playing with them ha ha.
After the baby shower , we have almost everything we need! Chris jokes that she has more clothes than him and I combined #truth.
One thing I still need to get is a pump. I wasn’t aware that you shouldn’t use a second-hand pump until my MIL mentioned it. Apparently, they can spread diseases. Yikes! I had already bought a pump from a lady I know but I’ve decide not to use it ( knowing the risks). On the plus side, I had a conversation with Chris’s insurance company and it sounds like they will cover the cost of a pump.
The nursery is almost complete! I am just waiting on some artwork from Etsy and finish up some last minute decor ideas. I am thinking of posting photos once it’s all complete.
Mom and Dad updates:
Next week will be our last prenatal class. Chris and I were both unsure if we would find any benefit to the classes as we heard it can be a waste of time. To our surprise, we have walked away with some great tips on how to prepare for labor and take care of a newborn. I could have done without this analogy though:
I’m never eating a bagel again.
Chris is in full blown Daddy mode. It melts my heart that he is so interested in all of her little outfits, new gadgets and watching our pregnancy app for updates. I sometimes find him just standing in her room going through her closet looking at everything.
I am really impressed with the Dr’s I am seeing. The clinic rotates appointments through all 4 Dr’s on staff sine one of those Dr.’s will ultimately deliver our baby ( unless a c-section is needed). I have my Group B strep test in a few weeks and then it’s on to the standard weekly appointments.
Baby is measuring normal and my blood pressure is exactly where it should be. The Dr also mentioned that baby girl seems to be head down already which is wonderful news.
Third Trimester favorites:
A friend gave me a piece of advice that stuck with me; she told me to accept help but make sure it’s the right kind of help. ‘Help’ she said, isn’t someone coming over to hold the baby, you need to be doing that. Helps is dropping off food, assistance with the laundry or even running errands. She also reminded me that there is no shame in asking visitors if they are sick before they come over. All really good advice.
