November has already been a busy month for us. We had two back to back weekends full of activity.
The first weekend of November, we went to Cochrane to attend my sister’s wedding. Kate and Tony had a small wedding in a community hall. I have only met Tony a couple of times, but I can tell my sister is really happy with him.
After the wedding ceremony, we did some family photos before helping set up for the potluck dinner.
After dinner, there was a short dance before clean up and we headed to Calgary to stay with Chris’s parent’s for the night.
Chris’s mom had told me about a couple of second-hand baby clothes which we decided to check out before heading home. I was shocked by the amount of good clothes we found! I have been warned that babies go through a lot of outfits so we are starting to stock up.
Chris and I both had this past Friday off ( for Remembrance Day). My Dad came over in the morning to help Chris paint the nursery. When it came to picking out a wall colour , I was open to any color but pink. My Dad jokes that the pink wallpaper with 3D sheep I had as a child must have traumatized me out of wanting pink ( he’s probably right).
While the guys painted the room, I put together the Halo Bassinet we received in the mail. This bassinet is awesome. Not only does it swivel around, but it also adjusts to the height of the bed which makes it easier to reach for baby in the middle of the night, without having to get out of bed.
We tried to go out for sushi on Friday but our favorites spot was closed. Instead, we went to Earls which was surprisingly good ( remember when that whole uproar happened after Earls said they weren’t going to sell Alberta Beef.. and then changed their mind? I guess everyone got over it since it was packed).
Saturday morning we organized the basement and found a bunch of items we thought we had misplaced (ie: a Bose speaker, my old passports, my stupid citizenship card). Chris also found my old photo albums and yearbooks and had a really good laugh looking at my terrible haircuts.
I spent the afternoon running errands for our potluck while these two crashed and took a nap.
In the evening, we hosted our annual friend’s potluck. I love hosting get-togethers, especially when there is food involved!
After dinner, the guys headed downstairs to play poker while the ladies visited upstairs.
Somehow I stayed up until 11:30 pm without a nap. I was pretty proud of myself.
My lack of sleep caught up with me on Sunday and I ended up sleeping in until 10:30am ! We spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching football. Chris is going to be on the road for work for the next month (home on weekends) so it was nice to have some chill time together.
>How was your weekend? What did you do?
>Do you have any old photo albums that you are embarrassed to have anyone see?
