Lately, my girlfriends and I have been joking about my love of naps and how I should enjoy them while I still can. On Sunday, I went to brunch, came home and took what I thought would be a short nap. I woke up THREE hours later. YIKES! I am so thankful for the weekends because most of the time I can squeeze in some relaxing time and some time for a nap.
Let’s rewind to a couple of weekends ago.
Our #linefamily has been trying to get together for a camping trip since June . For the last weekend of Summer, we headed out to Raymond Ridge for a weekend get away. The weather was awesome Thursday night and all day Friday. We spent our time going for walks, catching up and playing with the kids and the dogs.
Unfortunately, the wind was really bad on Saturday. Chris and Colton went hunting for a few hours but didn’t get anything. The evening was filled with the guys + Liat playing some kind football drinking game ( I still don’t understand the rules) , camp fire stories and eating way too many snacks.
On Saturday night, Chris received a trouble call so we had to pack up really early Sunday morning and head home. I’m a bit sad camping season is over but the crazy part of me is excited for Christmas ( yes, already)!
I was starving when I got home so I whipped up my favorite recipe right now, Peanut Sesame Noodles with Chicken and made a little story about it on SnapChat ( cause why not).
We were up early on Saturday morning to babysit for our friends while they picked up supplies for their bathroom demo. I’m so excited to see how this renovation turns out. Is anyone else obsessed with home renovations? I can’t get enough of HGTV and Pinterest for home improvement ideas. Chris left around 11:30 to go golfing, leaving me with 4 kids to watch. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t overwhelming at first. To spent our time building forts and watching Goosebumps ( remember the books?) until Liat and Denver got home.
In the afternoon, I ran some errands and found some new pregnancy friendly pants and took a quick nap (#pregnancyissues). In the evening, I headed out to Smudge for a night of painting. When Liat first invited to go to Smudge, I was pretty apprehensive about how much fun I would have. I have zero artistic abilities and I figured it would be frustrating.
When I got there, I was happy to see the outline of the drawing was already done for us so we wouldn’t have to freehand everything.
There were 12 ladies in the group, most of who I had never met. We all had a good laugh trying to show off our own Di Vinci skills.
To my surprise, I had a blast painting, I’m even considering taking up painting as a hobby! The owner mentioned there is an upcoming class where two people paint on two separate canvas’ to make one picture. I’m still trying to convince Chris that we should take this class.
On Sunday, I went to brunch with two of my girlfriends. I don’t see these girls as often as I used to now that we don’t all work together so it was really nice to see them.
After brunch, I came home and crashed. HARD. I didn’t wake up until 5pm! I had a massive headache and I felt sick ( seems like whenever I feel nauseous, it’s never in the morning, always in the afternoon/evening).
I decided against making my planned dinner of chicken pot pie . Instead, I crashed on the couch with a bowl of chicken noodle soup and watched “How I Met Your Mother” with Chris.
