It was pointed out that I’ve been slacking on posting ( thanks Melissa) So today’s Five on Friday will be a Ten on Five to catch up for lost time. Here we go…
I’m starting with food because it’s the most important. Obviously.
I’m a big fan of spaghetti squash but it’s been hard to justify making it with the time it takes in the oven and the fact that it’s so hot outside #thestruggleisreal
A couple of weeks ago , I discovered you can cook spaghetti squash in the crock pot.
It was easy.Cut the squash in half, take the seeds out ,make some turkey meatballs (brown them first), make a tomato sauce and in 8 hours, deliciousness served.
I’ve rapidly fallen into the world of quinoa.I made a chicken broccoli quinoa casserole which Chris x’ed after it tasted ‘ like something a baby would eat’ ( he wasn’t wrong). Then two days later, I sent him to work with these quinoa muffins. I sat on stand by waiting for the “what the f%#k are you feeding me text ?!?”.. But instead, he loved them! We had these awesome tuna broccoli quinoa cakes for dinner the same day. Can you overdose on quinoa ?
I bought a wedding dress (ie: “said yes to the dress”). To be honest, I had actually found the dress the first time I went shopping ( see last post), but if you know me, I have to mull over it, weigh ALL my options and be SURE before I commit to buy. I’m somewhat of a shopping nightmare. 🙂
While in Calgary, I took an ‘accidental’ detour to LuLu and bought all of the things. No. Not true. But I wanted to. I ended up leaving with pants , shorts , sports bra and a hoodie.
And the reason for the workout clothes ..I started following The Bikini Body Challenge just over 4 weeks ago. I am not doing the challenge to lose lbs. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t be mad if they came off. But I actually haven’t weighed myself since I started the program so I am blissfully unaware of if I’ve lost or gained.
I started the program to teach myself some discipline with a side of patience. My history of working out goes like this : find new plan, get excited , do it for a couple of weeks , quit/get distracted/ take a nap.
The patience part is realizing that results will take time. I am already seeing an improvement in my stamina and finding that I’m not wanting to die mid way through a workout.
I know.. right?!?! Don’t I look so alive and happy !?!?
And because good tunes make a work out, this is currently my go to tune:
Cool down song:
Back to Calgary ….I also made a pit stop into Sephora and picked up this face mask:
To be honest, I planned on hating it solely based on the price tag. The ingredients are supposed to help exfoliate, brighten and complete your life . haha . I have noticed that it makes me skin look a lot more awake and incredibly smooth. So I love it. You win Sephora.
This was gifted to me at work :
Yeh, I know, food AGAIN.
I’m planning on reuniting with my friend Jim ( read: GYM) tomorrow to go to spin class. I feel like it’s been long enough that I’ve forgotten about the pain. Last time I went, I slowly started backing out of the class half way through, looking at my wrist claiming I had an ‘appointment’.
We also have to go pick up my parents from the airport on Sunday.. who I haven’t heard from in about a week ( they usually email daily while away). Makes me uneasy. Either there have been kidnapped or they didn’t like my last email, threatening that they better bring us back something good or it will be a long walk from Calgary to Lethbridge.
Have a good weekend !
